Hugues-Albert (H-A) Sully
Hugues-Albert is an experienced audit manager with over 15 years of experience conducting compliance audits, performance audits, internal audits, and quality assurance engagements for Canadian public sector organizations. From 2018 to 2021, Hugues-Albert worked as a Manager with the Risk Advisory Services at BDO Canada. In this capacity, he has performed audit and risk assessment engagements for a wide range of public sector clients, including the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Canadian Museum of History, Canada Border Services Agency, and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Prior to joining BDO Canada, Hugues-Albert worked as an audit team lead and manager in several Canadian public institutions, such as the Office of the Auditor General, Department of Public Safety, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
From June 2019 to June 2021, Hugues-Albert acted as a Board Member for the Ottawa Chapter of the IIA, where he successively held the positions of Chair of Certification and Co-Chair of Programs. As Co-Chair of Programs, H-A was responsible for delivering an educational program in support of Chapter member development, training needs and continuous learning. This involved coordinating program activities with training providers, facilitating training sessions, and promoting training events.
Hugues-Albert is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Project Management Professional (PMP). He also holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Laval University in Quebec City, as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from l'École nationale d'administration publique (ÉNAP) in Montreal.
Hugues-Albert is fluent in French and English and can operate in Spanish at an intermediate level.
